Playwright/Directors/Cast & Crew BIOS HERE

In 2007, our first event, we presented seven pieces in various stages of production.  They were all written by women.  Some were short plays; complete.  This year, we have ten.  Some, are pieces that will grow into a one-act, or a full length play, yet to be written.  Others are scenes or fragments from full length plays.  All rough.  All new.  All not yet produced.

We have a cast of generous actors, willing to get their teeth into something edgy, willing to push artistic boundaries.  We challenged the playwright to stage their own reading when possible.  The only thing we ask, is the scripts remain in hands.  Without the script, expectations become too high for this kind of event and people forget it is a reading with minimal rehearsal.

After the first act, there will be a talk-back session with the playwrights or directors.  As of now, at least six of the ten playwrights will be in attendance, three coming from the US.  The audience can ask questions and comment on the pieces.  After the second act, all the playwrights or directors will take the stage for questions.

Our audiences Are very enthusiastic.  Other years, there have been some quintessential local theatre people in the audience, who have gone on to cast our actors in their productions.

This will be our third event.
